It has been sometime since I ordered a new knife. It feels like it has been at least 3 months, but Im not really sure. Anyways, we woke up last night to a call that kept us up all night and my will broke. I have a new 73 in Appaloosa heading this way.

Barry - pick me out a good one. :D

Funny how the mind works late at night:eek:
Still, you were able to pick a winner, the Appalossa I've seen have been very special!
Hope all is well and you can completely enjoy the 73 for a long time. :)

Well.....another Winchester USA 1988 Bone 2880 1/2 Swell Center Moose is on the way.

I'm done...hopefully.

I actually made it 3 months between knife purchases! Here is what is on order:

The Wenger Traveler. This is the seller's photo. The little chain was discontinued by Wenger in 2006. So, although the seller says it is "new in the box," it is obviously one of those "new-old-stock" things. I don't know if it can be dated to a specific year, but circa 2005 sounds cool. 3.25 inches closed, described as a "full sized" Swiss Army Knife.

After sweating bullets trying to choose between two equally lovely options, I pulled the trigger on a Case Medium Stockman (cigar) in deep canyon-jigged dark red bone. It looks like a wonderfully pocketable pattern.

Rough Rider 858 "small trapper" wearing imitation tortious covers.
IMHO the shape and long single bolster makes it look more like a Barlow than a trapper.
I think on a knife this small, (2.5 inches closed) the Barlow shape will give me a better grip.

Edit: Almost forgot. A SAK "watch chain" is on the way, too. It should work well with the SAK belt clip to keep my camp knife handy.

I just put in an order @knivesshipfree for a GEC #15 farmboy [emoji1] I'm going to have to take a break from purchasing knives and related items for awhile but I think it will be worth it

Seth, you can't go wrong with any of the GEC #15 patterns. In fact, I always recommend every collection to have at least one #15. The problem is, they're like potato chips, you can't stop at just one. I wish you well in your break from buying. ;) :D
Post a pic when you get it.

I scared that maybe true😄 it was your Northwoods knife that pushed my decision (the feel and quality of a higher priced knife). I have been on the fence for quite awhile on a slip joint and was going to stick with a cheaper brand of knife. But after getting the knife you sent to me I realized that if I spent the money on a GEC or something of that caliber I will be much more happy with the knife in the long run.
