Whatcha got on order? (Traditional Knives Only)

To arrive next week. Hess Whitetail Hunter with stacked leather handle. At $78, it's an expensive knife for me.

Next week I'll be getting this:

GEC15_BeerScout_ivorybone.jpg

Beer Scout Knife (Smooth Ivory Bone)

But I'm even more desperately waiting for this:

GEC42_Missouri-Trader_elk.jpg

Missouri Trader (American Elk)

(Both photos taken from the sites where I bought the knives, no copyright infringement intended.
If that's against the rules please point it out and I'll remove the images)

Great knife! Tempered by GEC and comes sharp imo from Hess. You'll enjoy it.

both... hummina hummina! Amazing that old Mora is still pristine. and Brett I've oggled the GEC Sportsmen Hunters for I dont know how long and was only saved by my small but lovely collection of old camillus, HSBs, and Cattarauguses. Anyone evr see what happened to the 73 Hatchets they made?

My grandpa gave me a knife when I was a young teenager that was almost identical to these except it had stag handles. The thing must have been from the 50s or 60s. I lost the knife in my more reckless years :( I have really been eyballing those in the bone...Doesn't seem to be a lot of interest in the GEC fixed blades. Beautiful knives IMO

I have one of these albeit mine isn't nearly as handsome but it's a dandy of a fixed blade; ideal sized IMHO.

I appreciate the kind words. Now if I could only find the White Bone 1095 version :D

Lucydog - Great pattern, thin blades, nice pull usually on those, and just an overall great knife.

Congrats

Just scored this BEAAUUUTTTY! Don't know a lot about the company but the tang stamp indicates 1940-1964?! That cant be true can it??? (Looks like the newer Queen produced ones use this same tang stamp, so it's a newer model) Chime in if you have some info on these. Looks like they where made by queen...

KP, definitely a newer Queen made knife. The tool steel is a dead giveaway. Queen started using D2 in the late '90s or early 2000s, and I don't think Robeson ever did. Still, a great bone handled knife for the money, especially with the steel upgrade. Nice buy.

Yeah, I checked a tang stamp chart for the brand and it indicated that date, just didn't seem posibble. But good news! Now I wont feel guilty EDC'ing it and I'm a fan of d2!

I was SOOOO close to buying an elk 42 today, maybe that same one...I'm on the lookout for a larger lockback GEC in stag or elk but you got to dish out for those lookers! Nice score!!

I can not think how i missed these when they came out, so i have had to wait until one came up for sale on a forum over here in the UK. This one should be with me on Tuesday.
