Wow. I guess I thought those were in the 3 inch closed range. That’s a real substantial knife.

I have yet another gaucho knife coming, and I thought I remembered deciding not to bid on this one. So it must have been fated.
It is my first with a guard, and my first with a locketed and chaped leather sheath, so fate has not been unkind.

Thanks, Gary. Oal is 8.6" with a blade of 3.75". I requested 8" oal and I guess he overshot it slightly but I'm ok with that. I'm looking forward to its arrival and seeing how the handle shape feels in hand.

That blade is super cool looking.

Yeah I like the way it came out too, John. I have nothing else like it in my small collection of fixed blades and I intend to use this one just as I do with the others.

Well as of this evening it’s official. Jim Dunlap has me on his list. He has agreed to make me a 3.5 inch stockman. This will be my first custom and I am ecstatic! It will be just like the 4 inch here only in the 3.5 range. All the better to be a never without knife.View attachment 1337624

That Dunlap knife is a beauty plus it just looks solidly built as well. I know rounded bolsters may be more pocket friendly but personally I love the looks of squared bolsters. Have your picked out covers for yours?

I too love the square bolsters and if I can get him to slant them I’ll be over the moon! I’ve asked to stick with that amazing westing house Micarta.

I couldn't tell in the pic if those covers were delrin, bone or micarta. I think the Westinghouse Micarta is perfect for that knife and would be my vote as well.
