As of today, I have a couple of the Red Trout sheepfoot knives on order. I got an orange peel kirinite, and a basketweave jigged bone... I completely missed the first release of these knives as clip blades, and figured I'd never be able to get one... then these sheepfoot ones were released. I couldn't resist. I can't wait to get them in hand... the pics they sent of them make them look really good.

really nice covers on those! I ordered one a few days ago, right after eric posted about them, but haven't seen the cover selection. did Richard send you those pics? would love to see them all...

His daughter Doreen was there, and she took the pics and sent them to me while we were on the phone. They had one of the blue rope ones left, but I passed on it. I figured someone else would want that one more than I did. I don't think Richard has a pic of all of them.... perhaps Eric does. I'd like to see that, myself.

Finally broke down to try a Carter Cutlery Knife—just an apprentice as my wallet won’t handle the Man’s knives and I wasn’t up for a Muteki. I took the top one from this post from an apprentice that the Instagram account for Carter has said good things about, whatever that’s worth.

Just pulled the trigger on this one and can’t wait to get it in my hands . Almost picked up a civivi rustic and opted for some German Heritage instead

Absolutely phenomenal choice! My wife picked me up one of those for my birthday a couple of months ago and I absolutely love it! Excellent fit and finish and the combination of the O1 steel and Castle Burg covers made it a gotta have. They also have a grenadil (african blackwood) and 440C barlow that can be had at some supporting dealers for a pretty solid discount.

I know it’s just a matter of preference and taste but that is the frosting on the cake for me. I love that “tree” shield .
Mine should be here tonight so I’ll know for sure once it’s in my hands but have a feeling my thoughts won’t change.

My Boker Barlow Just arrived and it has wowed me
#112 of 1133 .
Blade is dead centered and what a quality piece. I love the fact that the covers were made from castle wood a castle built in 1133 in Germany. I can feel the history just holding it in my hand
