Whatcha got on order? (Traditional Knives Only)

Sorry to report the Case sowbelly I ordered was sadly disappointing in many ways so I returned it. I guess I’m spoiled by the classic Case jigging. The View attachment 3029576 action on all three blades was mushy too.
Could the action have been improved by cleaning and lubing the joints?

Yeah ... I know cleaning and lubing the joints ... and sharpening/evening the grind ... should not be required at Rough Ryder's price point -- let alone at Case's price point.
Sadly, some production knives leave the factory with polishing compound (or much, much worse) remaining in one or more of the joints, regardless of brand and price point. 😠

Is that a new jigging pattern, or is it suppose to be their 'Peach Seed' jigging?
If 'Peach Seed' ... agree it looks ... off ... compared to their previous efforts.
To me it is too symmetrical; even columns, rows, and size, instead of somewhat random.

Sorry to hear that. I always thought Case had some of the nicest jigging, but I have to agree, your example is kind of disappointing. I have three Case sowbellies, and the action on all of them is a smooth 6. Just about right.

My thoughts exactly. It almost looks machine made. I could have lived with / worked with the blade action and the grinds/edges were pretty good. The CV would surely have broken in nicely. But the covers just bummed me out. Especially for a little over $100 with tax.

I just bought this pair of Utica Sportsman knives on Ebay, it looks like they just have some corrosion from being stored in their sheaths ( which are missing) in a damp environment , but don't appear to have been used much if at all.

I've got plans to modify / customize and rehandle both, but will probably gift one of them.
Well I won't be getting this pair if Uticas 😭.

I had received an update from Ebay that the seller marked it as shipped, but then no tracking or updates.
I looked into it and discovered that the seller had a failed attempt to cancel the order because they lost or misplaced them.
I tried to file a claim with Ebay but I have to wait till Wednesday when the ETA has expired before I can file a claim, and that's crazy because they can see on their end that I've received no tracking and the cancelation attempt with specified reason.
The seller has told Ebay that they don't have the item.

It's okay that I won't be receiving those Utica sportsman knives, because I found something better.
I love those 9 inch " boys Bowie " knives like the Imperial H6 & Utica sportsman, but the best version of them is the Kent sportsman.
They have the most attractive blade profile , edge that extends past the ricasso, and real jigged bone scales.
They are everything I was going to mod the Uticas into and I've wanted one for years ,but they always command too much on Ebay.

I just scored one for a reasonable price on Ebay, and with any luck I'll actually receive it.

This worm groove bone isn't the version I wanted most, but the earlier version with that fine corn cobb bone are harder to come by.

I preordered one of these back in August:

UPS just notified me that they have my package 🥳
