Whatcha got on order? (Traditional Knives Only)

I'm not usually a fan of spear points, but this Queen Straight Jack with its D2 blades has been catching my eye. I've been looking at it for a while. Shortly one will be on its way and we'll see if it can win me away from clip point main blades.

A friend of mine just got a job at the garden center at Lowe's and of course I asked if they were issued knives. He said they are given retractable utility razors that require constant finger pressure to keep open, otherwise they automatically retract. Safety first!

We've got the same at Home Depot, and our ones the blade extends only a half-centimetre. Alot can be done with a small blade, but a half-centimetre and must keep pressure on the button to use it? Absurd. I try to use one of my own knives as much as possible. My #15 Boys and my Bullnose are still on order, should be here in a couple of days hopefully. I intend to use that sodbuster a whole lot more than my HD knife, just gotta keep my head on the swivel ;)

That straight jack in amber bone is one of my favorites. Just the right size, with a nice heft to it, and two useful blades. And that amber bone is stunning when the light hits it right.

I have my third Schrade Walden 804 coming in. I've never been a duplicate sort of guy but these are just fantastic knives.

I have a Macassar Ebony Wood 2 Blade Spearpoint TC Barlow on it's way to me. This will complete my Ebony TC Barlow collection

I found a Winchester black box Norfolk/Half Congress and was swayed by the pictures of kamagong's example. Should be nice, also my very first Queen made piece.

If anyone has info on these knives I would be happy about it.

Nice Smithhammer. I have been missing my half whitt lately and that doesnt happen much. I hope you will enjoy that one

My GEC Bullnose arrived yesterday, and a Boys #15, so I've nothing else on order, but I kind of do. They sent me a Clip Blade version rather than the spear blade version I ordered. I contacted them and they said to send it back and they'll send out the right one, so while my order arrived I technically still have a #15 Boys knife spear/pen combo, ebony wood on order. Looking forward to it. The clip blade version they sent me is the exact same knife I already bought about a month ago, so it's a duplicate, otherwise I might have considered informing them but keeping it as it's a nice knife. Which is why I bought the first one:D

I won't list the vendor I'm using as I don't think they're a BF listed vendor, but I've had great service from them before and their prompt response and willingness to quickly correct the order has me pleased with their service again, so I don't mind waiting. In a way it's kind of nice, as it means I get to experience the excitement of opening a new package of a new knife again so soon, especially since I wasn't planning on ordering another knife anytime soon.

The Bullnose at least is very nice. My first sodbuster, and I'm a big fan of the pattern already. I need to get a Case JR yellow delrin soon I think. In CV.

I've got a 1960s Camillus #20 muskrat, my first true muskrat, winging its way to me. 1920's Utica bullet end jack on the way from Israel, too.

That's all for now probably.

Been on a bocote kick lately, and I've wanted a wharncliffe #57 for a while now. This one proved irresistible:

These are a nice pattern: single-spring, decent Wharncliffe and near sunk joints. They don't get enough recognition in my view, have one in bone and I'm very proud of it.
