Whatcha got on order? (Traditional Knives Only)

I've got a Case Dark Redbone Slimline Trapper in CV on the way, 3rd one I own. I'm sensing a pattern here. I want the Bermuda Green one now to carry for St. Patricks day.
My Case 6347HP arrived in the mail yesterday, bid a little too much on the auction, but I really wanted it. It was an 8 dot and I just could'nt let that one get away! I've blown my budget for the month of August....... yeah, right

My first knife from Mike Alsdorf. (I know, I know, what took me so long? Well now I'll finally find out what I've missed. ;))

Nice! What pattern did you order? Spill the beans!

Oh my, so demanding...sheesh. :p

Okay, here ya go. I came across the knife in an exchange listing by Mike yesterday and it caught my eye both for its utility and also because it looked like it would make a nice companion to a recently acquired stock knife from Ken Erickson...(though Mike's is maroon linen micarta in a shadow pattern and Ken's is a maroon G-10 "integral". Still, I think they mate up well. What do you think? Both feature oval shields and CPM-154 blades as well.) After a really enjoyable discussion with Mike on the phone yesterday morning I decided it was high time to add one of his knives to the lineup. Both these knives are intended as EDC companions commensurate with the diversity of climate and terrain in this region.

I think that'll be a fine duo. I really like what Mike's doing with Shadow Wharncliffe Trapper pattern. I spoke with Mike on the phone a while back -- great guy! I thought it would be my first custom. But I lucked into a whittler from Ken... and then a Sowbelly Whittler from Ryuichi -- my head is still spinning! ;) The trapper is still on my list. I look forward to seeing your Alsdorf Wharncliffe Trapper and Erickson Stockman in the same photo!

Funny, Ken mentioned the same thing. Thanks for the feedback.

Very nice Elliot!! I'm sure you'll like yours as much as I like mine.

Thank you, Trand. I've read great things about Mike's precision and workmanship for years and I'm excited to finally experience it for myself.

I wish I could post I had a Jeff Claiborne swell center sunfish with sambar stag, but the quote I got back is out of the ball park till next year! :(

Having to wait a while is half the fun with the good stuff!

Yeah, I'll just keep saving then give him the go ahead...so far he makes the best looking sunfish I've seen with a swell center, equal end though goes to Don Hanson.

On topic again I have an old sheffield folder coming in for a spa treatment, cant wait. :)

I'm anxiously awaiting this LCJ from Brent Cramer. He emailed me this pic today. He says he still has finish work to do on it and it should be on it's way to Central NY Tuesday. Hooray!

I'll make sure to post more pics when she arrives.
