Picked some more stuff up to play with. Hopefully I'll get some spare time soon and see what I have.

I'm guessing cherry from the looks of it. Going to be a lot of nice handle material there.

I don't mind at all. The top two pieces are maple. They thought the bottom was as well but after cutting a little chunk off I believe it's fir. Probably be firewood or something other than knife handles.

Lookin' good! It looks to me like the sub is too long though... just personal opinion, I'm not much of a sub-hilt aficionado however, so maybe that's exactly how they are done.

I don't have any of the current finished knife. On my first attempt, I went to thin with the scales trying to get those double ridges right. I am having a devil of a time figuring that one out. I have the new blank roughed out. I will be attempting again next week.

Thanks Kevin.

I use a kmg belt grinder with small wheel attachment (1" Small wheel)

It may very well be. I have a hard time judging what seems good on screen to what is good in hand. I printed scale templates out today so I can carve a wood prototype.

New workbenches in my little basement shop. Slowly getting it organized.

The HF benches are surprisingly stable!. And on sale at $99 plus the 20% coupon. Did you know they will take that coupon in digital format right off your smart phone?

Got my PID unit together for the quench tank. Just need to get a 120v plug to put on it so it's a plug and play unit. Thought j had one but guess not. Need to get one ordered.

Yes, and you can also google Harbor freight 20% coupon and can get a coupon number from a number of coupon websites as well. They pretty much have one floating around 365 days a year. I NEVER walk into HF without one. All you have to do is give them the coupon number, they type it in and you're good to go!!!!

Just finished up this Hunter. 0.130" aeb-l, box elder burl, blue g10 liners, and 1/4" brass corby bolts.
