Great job rubberdog.
Just finished this way too thick kitchen knife. It started life as .128 80crv2. Tried to thin it a bit on the platen. It could probably double as a clever, or camp knife :D
But it cuts meat and makes the wife happy so that's all that matters. As my skills improve so will her kitchen knife collection.

Knife number 4. Not sure how I like this linen mircata. Sanded up to 800 grit. I still have a long way to go before I'm comfortable charging money for these. Even if its only 40 bucks.

Both Red and Green Linen Micarta are two of my favorites not only for looks but working them and they are durable...Buffed out they really are Nice....Look at Green Linen on Old Bob Loveless Knives!!! I think his Linen is what got me hooked on the stuff.

I'll look into those. Anything Mr loveless does is gorgeous. It's probably me but I just couldn't get the scales too look evenly. There's little grey/white patches here and there.

I always finish micarta to 600 grit and buff with Zam, never had an issue. If there are places that don't buff out, they are spots you missed in sanding.

This is canvas micarta before and after a coat of TruOil. You can use other oils as well. I think your handle just needs a coat of something to bring back the richness of color and to get all the sanding dust out of the pores.
I will try that I just used wd40. But I will slather some Danish oil on it
