So then this happened... I was at the recycler and saw this 2' length of cable... and thought I might make homemade mosaic pins. Fits perfectly inside a 7/32 copper tube if I unwind one strand. I'm really liking copper liners since I have some sheets, and this should complement well on larger blades. I just enlarged pinholes on 2 that will be out for heat treat soon. I hope it looks as good as I think it will. Oh yeah, the cable was free too!IMG_1067.JPG IMG_1068.JPG

Long time no post, here is a pic showing how I optimize my expensive steel cut offs (Takefu sanmai, vtoku2 and vg10 suminagashi) I scan the pieces, load them into coreldraw and then shape a knife out of them, then with my vinyl cutter (cameo3) I cut the shapes and then profile easily

I bed the antler tang hold with Apoxy Sculpt for a tight repeatable fit, helps with matching the guard having the antler on and off 100 times.

I bent the ring again and cleaned up, tough to etch when it's real cold :D

That thing is going to be a real pain to split kindling out of.:D

What kind of wood did it give you?..... no uh... what kind of wood do you have... uh.. in your truck. Umm what kind of tree was it that you got wood from:confused:
