I ended up with an interesting look on this mini-kwaiken. It has a black paper micarta bolster with this coarse green burlap micarta someone sent me on top of toxic green G10 liner. I never seem to learn my lesson that the steel is harder than handle material which leads me to gouge the material between the pins. This forces me to keep taking off more material to get the deep scratches out.

The liner material ended up showing through and blending with the scale. The coarse burlap also looks reptilian in nature. In the end, it came out cooler than I thought.

Valknut - It doesn't hardly look like the same knife in this set of photos. MUCH better. Even better if you'd crop the photos so only the knife shows in each photo without so much extra background. Also, reduce the screen size to around 400 pixels or so. The photo will fit on page much better allowing it to be seen without having to scroll. My screen is set fairly large (150%) so my old eyes can see text. BTW, good looking knife.

Stopped raining long enough to snap some pics. @Rick Marchand @kuraki

That's the first stick tang she's worked on so she's really excited about it. Green bolster is malakite TruStone and the rest is purpleheart.

anvilring anvilring try imgur and copy the BB code. It what alot of us use
Thanks! That's what I've been doing for a long long time elsewhere, but always for my laptop at work. On the phone you actually have to go check into the classic site in order to find the BB code, or at least I had to!

@Hengelo_77 , when you say ......hand sanded to 12.000 grit ,you mean on ordinary scale for grit size ? Like 100 , 240 grit , 1500 grit , 2500 grit ...etc and then 12000 ???
BW . Nice knife

Anyone ever heard of Cleston Sinyard? I channel him regularly... I don't think he ever bought anything but whisky. Likewise, I have a lifetime of stuff laying around in my shop and the backyard to make knives for free till I die. But that's not all that far away actually since I'm 64 this year....

Thnx! I used my grinder and files first, then started at 240grit.
I used sandpaper to 2500 and micromeshed up to 12.000.
After finishing 1000grit it took me little over 30 minutes to get it up to 12.000

Hand sanding is zen, seeing it get so smooth and shiny is magic!
