Also, when you drill wood, it compresses around the drill bit as the bit cuts. Immediately after you drill it, your pins may fit. Later when you try to fit the pins, the wood has relaxed a bit and they won’t fit.
Run your drill through it a second time and your pins just might fit!

Well I like this one more .............Finally got back to making knives after several months hiatus due to a move for work. Started it with attempting to heat treat a chef knife I had in progress and everything went smoothly until attempting to remove some warp post heat treat when I snapped it! Dang. Looks like it might turn into a nakiri with a western chef knife style handle haha
