A good vise is a must, I went through two or three $39.00 Menard's brand vises and finally broke down and bought a Wilton Tradesman 1755, it's an incredible vise, rock solid and worth every penny.
I'm feeling some vise envy here
That Starret vise was a gift from my father about 20 years ago he insisted I have it he was very adamant about it back then I didn't have good appreciation of what a vis
That Starret vise is the King of Visese really is I thought they were just some kind of crude blacksmithy type thing that you beat on but he changed my mind on that when he showed me that vice and how it's machined everywhere and the forgings perfectly made and machined.
