Finished this one today. N690, bronze (edit: nope, it's brass), plastic spacer, spalted stabilized beech. I love the bronze - it may look similar as brass in the pictures, but in real life I think I see a subtle difference. (edit: yeah it looked to me like it had some more redish tint than the brass I usually use, but I guess it's still just brass - duh)

Cool. Are you going to etch it to show the layers?
I didn't know that steel can shrinks so much :D
No , I will not do that . Line is very visible/ distinct . Problem was that deep crack also become very visible on edge after fine hand sanding bevels 🤣
So here it is in all glory ... my overnight shrinked knife . At least I managed to take photo where that line is visible :)

I am all new to surface grinding. Just recently got an SGA and now it's up and running after a couple of fixes.

What is your grit progression when doing this??

I found it neccessary to start with 120 ceramic to remove peening marks and decarb. Then 220 ceramic and finally A45 Trizact (appr P400). I will finish with a little hand sanding with P400.

The blade is an updated hunter profile Magnacut that should be at 62 hrc if I've done things right.

This is that 52100 blade I showed earlier (the ugly one) I slapped some burgundy micarta on it. I'm going to take it to the job site tomorrow and let the boys play with it and reef on it a little!View attachment 1893638
Sheep's foot is my favorite blade shape for almost all of my leather work and general shop work.

People loved SureTouch on fillet knives I did, should be great for hunting and fillet knives!

That profile is about perfect for a hunter, enough belly for skinning enough tip for boning.....
