Thank you Stacy, that means a lot. I like the extreme play on textures, but for me the clean parts have to be really clean, and the rough parts have to be done right. Still working on it and learning with each one.I'm not a huge fan of semi-finished style blades, but that one is really nice looking.
If yours is like the one I bought some years ago you will love it.I ordered a heat treat oven this weekend. https://usaknifemaker.com/knifedogs...troller-by-paragon-8-w-x-4-t-x-14-d-240v.html
I can hardly wait the 6 weeks but I do need to set up my shop...
I'm glad to hear that. There's some stuff I'm not a fan of like always on coils and the 14" depth, but most of the knives I make are 10" or less, and I do like that it's 240v so I'm hoping it heats up quickly. If yours is like the one I bought some years ago you will love it.
As long as I don't have to babysit it like a forge, it'll save me time and money on heat treatingIf I remember correctly, on full ramp it goes up something like 26-27 degrees F/minute.
As it approaches target it slows down, and I hated the wait so I would overshoot the target to get there faster and then reprogram the parameters to save time. Wasn’t exactly the ideal thing to do I guess but it saved me time.
Wish I had kept it for shorter knives.
I think all this needs is an edge...and a sheath
