This was my experiment with trying to give some rustic character to a hunter/bushcrafter. Perhaps not for everyone but I think it's kind of cool and fun to do something a little different.
Having done similar finishes on kitchen knives i would recommend a better finish on the bevel. It's the contrast between the two textures that makes them look good. A rough bevel just makes it look crude.
Not a perfect example but this is a recent test by me. Nakiri with forged 1080 blade @~60rc, micarta, fake ivory and silver handle

Just finished my first Damascus knife!
It’s 80crv2/15n20 in a pretty fine twisted W’s pattern.
And the handle is stabilized golden curly acacia from Greenberg Woods Greenberg Woods
I think it looks pretty good! What do y’all think?
I’ll post some more photos in the custom knife thread.

How does the ivory linen do with being stained? I used some ivory paper many years ago and pins/liner material wanted to smear into the micarta and was a PITA to clean after sanding to shape! The ivory linen looks great!
