I have not tried burlap yet so I can't speak to much for it, though if it's ultrex then I'm sure it will be high quality.Do u have any experience with the ultrex burlap micarta? I was thinking about buying some but it's pretty expensive.
I got it from Gfsknifesupplies.com It is made by british Tufnol supposedlyWhat brand is that???
Having done similar finishes on kitchen knives i would recommend a better finish on the bevel. It's the contrast between the two textures that makes them look good. A rough bevel just makes it look crude. This was my experiment with trying to give some rustic character to a hunter/bushcrafter. Perhaps not for everyone but I think it's kind of cool and fun to do something a little different.
Just finished my first Damascus knife!
It’s 80crv2/15n20 in a pretty fine twisted W’s pattern.
And the handle is stabilized curly acacia fromGreenberg Woods
I think it looks pretty good! What do y’all think?
I’ll post some more photos in the custom knife thread.

Damascus hunter
Hello, Just finished this little guy in W’s twist, stabilized golden curly acacia with copper pins and an heirloom fit-up. This is actually my very first Damascus knife. What do y’all think?! Questions/comments welcome!www.bladeforums.com
How does the ivory linen do with being stained? I used some ivory paper many years ago and pins/liner material wanted to smear into the micarta and was a PITA to clean after sanding to shape! The ivory linen looks great!
