If you want a good clean finish, without shadows and stains...............

Wash blade with soap under hot water / no acetone no alcohol / put glass jar with phosphoric acid in hot water and insert blade .It will darken fast , longer in acid more dark , clean with HOT water , don t touch blade .Hot water will heat blade and it will dry fast .Use some cooking oil on blade .After some five minutes clean blade with towel . Rub with towel till you get clean towel. Most durable finish I try so far .
I will clean flats , It will make nice contrast with blade bevels

What's up y'all, my name is Gabe Giovannetti and I'm a 15-year-old knife maker/blade from Georgia. I've been making knives for a couple years but have just now started getting a little more serious. I'm working with a 1 by 30 grinder right now and it's kind of horrible so l'm saving For an Amerabraid 2/72 to help me improve.

A5F14521-6B75-44DF-9AC2-B1BC8EBDDEF0.jpegHey guys. I’m a 15 year old knife maker here new to the forum. This is the latest pice of work in my shop. Beautiful pice of maple Burl from Fixall Fixall and 1095 high carbon steel from Maker material supply. Simple brass pins but the brass lanyard hole is actually a cartridge from a 17 rifle (because I didn’t have any brass tube.) I know the grind isn’t perfect but it’s because right now I’m doing all my grinds free hand on a 1” by 30” cheap grinder. I am saving for an amarabraid 2/72. It should really improve my work.
