Dude your Lambs are so much better then mine are coming out. I seem to take one step forward and two back when doing slipjoints. Amazing job my friend.

two steps back is correct. See below. I beat together one of them with some more ironwood but forgot one of the bronze washers. I had to take it apart and wrecked one iron wood cover. I was able to salvage the liners/bolsters and used different material.

I'm firm believer that to improve with folding knives, I HAVE to make catastrophic mistakes over and over, like grinding through the middle pivot pin from the spine, or taking too much off the tang to the point it is unsalvageable, to grinding off center. etc... in order to ingrain what not to do. Just reading about it or watching a video won't do it. I'm slowly embracing the mistakes and hearing that clinking sound of chucking another set of liners or blade into the mistake bucket.

ashwinearl ashwinearl I understand more after every one I screw up on. I sent part of a back spring flying across the workbench yesterday because I forgot to temper them down after I took them out of the first temper. So I am now making a new spring.

It's a good thing the Doctor is in, just in case anyone has trypophobia😂 This "woven holes 🕳 " pattern seemed perfect for a Tom Mayo "Dr. Death", this will be an auction piece on Tom's table for the upcoming FNBA/CCKS show in November 😁
