can you show of picture of the bit/burr you are using for jigging and source for where you got it?
Hello ashwinearl,

its nothing special mate, I found one lying around in a toolbox, they are commonly available for a couple of pounds/euro/dollars. Amazon, the bay, any tool store.

The technique seems to be light pressure then dig in whilst moving along to your preferred shape and direction. Kind of like the arc in a golf swing when you are digging a big slipper of turf out.

Really need to stay off auction websites......

Yeah I got some cheap tools, but gas and an entire day is a big cost I tend not to think about until after the fact. Shouldn't have chickened out on the Surface Grinder that was the sole reason I was placing bids (it went for pennies, and I want a stand alone unit to convert to run on belts), but it was a a logistical headache I didn't want to sort out. Need to finish the fabrication on my machine movers....

Needless to say lots of "shop time" this weekend was eaten up restoring these two tools and cleaning the muck out of the knurling. While it's slightly meaningless, as the shop environment is pretty dirty, the Mitutoyo deserves it. Both were in rough shape from what appeared to be daily use. Something kind of poetic about those large businesses going under or closing their doors - and selling off their equipment, just for it to become a staple in some new environment. Need to stop romanticizing everything, ha.

I did figure out how to get a satin finish without slaving away with sandpaper for hours - so big W for the weekend overall. (Phillies and Eagles both won as well - so WE ARE HAPPY & READY FOR MONDAY)
