Not that I can tell. The whitish spots are the frayed ends of the canvas, but the dark patches appear to be stains in the micarta.Ok, are the lighter colored areas coarser finish or deeper scratches left over?

What's the size (length, width, thickness) on the XXL one? I will shoot you a message on insta.Almost finished...
Few more in various (XL - XXL) sizes on the way.
It's super fun to make them.
Just finished up my 3rd knife, a small chopper in 1084 and natural canvas micarta. The micarta seems really mottled, especially where the thickness of the handle changes, and the butt of the handle is way darker than the rest of the handle. Is this just a natural characteristic of the micarta?

Cool, thank you! That's vintage micarta as Taz mentioned. The dark areas are patina'd or oxidized and would have been closer to the outside of whatever it was cut from. That'll look really nice once polished, takes on an ironwood like appearance.

I’ll be trying that on the next batch. I always put two 1/4” holes in my blanks to mount to a couple of fixtures I use so I just threaded the holes in one the blanks. I’ll drill it out to 1/4” when I’m ready to move to the next step.I do the same with superglue.
Wish they would have made it clear what artist did the engraving, but super rad.
