About finished with whatever this. I call it the Jabberwock. I just need to sharpen it and touch up a scratch or two in the finish. I really have no idea why I made it but it was fun. It’s a bit streaky looking because I drenched it in WD-40 before the pictures.

Finished this one minus sharpening and final touch up. It’s a basic utility knife in W2. I made the handle to fit a smaller hand than mine. I’ll take more photos when it’s not pouring rain outside.IMG_0241.jpeg

Lambfoot in A2 and stabilized burl. Hand rubbed to 800grit on blade, engraved with diamond scratch bit, hand rubbed to 2000grit on scale, wax matte finish

I've been having repeated issues with gaps at the spine. I think it is the way I am putting liners on disc sander. Going to only touch it on the disc after initial spot welding and stick to paper on flat surface.

video of walk and talk here. watch to the end to see phone fall. Really liking the snappiness of the A2

That’s a beauty.👍👍👍

I have my work cutout for me for the next (many) months.
2 bowie challange blades, 2 simple fulltang knives, 6 gyuto blades, 2 folders. Unfortunately the gyuto blades are only hardened to 60 HRC (I asked the facility for 62 - it's AEB-L).

60 Hrc AEB-L is not a bad thing

Yeah, I was also dissapointed about 59-60 HRC of the AEBL gyuto I had HTed externally, but after 3 years of almost daily use I can't complain. Sharpens great, very good edge stability even with very thin BTE and very reasonable edge retention.
