Apart from the final clean up, it's done. I really like the African blackwood combined with the brass guard.

Finished this cumai copper kukri a couple months ago. The Bowie is almost done. I think I’ll try a copper/brass cumai large Bowie next.

Here’s one my Bowies with a crown stag handle and an O1 carbon steel blade. I like the rustic look of deer stag knife handles.

The genius idea of using the back of 60 grit mesh sandpaper as sanding pads for hamons......

.... that leads to having to remove mysterious scratches and go back up the grits (at least getting to almost 1200 was quick)

Currently making a surface gage, as I couldn't find one in germany that wasn't the usual magnet base, and also in my budget. Decided to more or less copy a starrett style out of a block of c45 that I had laying around, but making it slightly bigger for some extra weight, and adding a bumper at the front. Blued up the running surface, and tuned it in a bit, there is still an unsupported isle, but its not at either end, or side, so it shouldn't interfere with the function. Will post an update, once I get all the hardware together, as I'm currently missing some screws and clamps still.
