Finished my Puddles low layer damascus blade finally:

And the last 2 blades out of my first 96 layer billet, both for my cousins husband!

4" reverse tango, Black/Copper G10 guard, orange spacer and Curly Quilted Maple handle. Still need to do the final handle/blade fitting and stuff and keep adding layers of finish to it. This is after a quick wipe of Tung Oil. It has about 7 more coats on it now:

Going to match this longer slicer:

This is 16" OAL, so I will probably end up with an 11 or 12" blade from the first billet and a handle from the remainder of the same block of wood, same style/colors, so he has a matched set. It wouldn't fit into my kiln for the HT, so I used that as my excuse to build my own HT oven!

Just finished this set that’s being donated for a fund raiser’s silent auction. I coach high school girls lacrosse and every fall there is an event to help finance the school’s athletic programs. This year I’m donating these kitchen knives. Living in Ohio, you can’t go wrong with anything Scarlet and Gray.
Blades: 14C28N heat treated by Bos to ~ 62.
Handles: Dymalux AppleJack epoxied with West GFlex and stainless pins.

I found a gunsmithing shop right next to where I work that has a Rockwell hardness tester and was willing to test a few knives for me. Super handy timing after getting my own heat treat oven finally earlier this year, so now I can get a little confidence boost by seeing exactly how my heat treating is turning out, instead of just getting a ballpark with hardness files!
