Not a terribly hard thing to do but the devil is in the details they say.
Tightly fit guard and spacers makes them appear as one piece.

So far on my full tang Bowie sheath. Will have a leather faux croc inlay.

Any progress on this one?

Not much, I fitted the rest of the handle pieces and then scraped it all out.
I drilled one of the alignment pins at an angle and ended up showing on the side while shaping everything. On the second go I kept only the guard and the first couple spacers.

Ever tried Plexiglas for your templates? Cheaper than aluminum and if you have a bandsaw, makes easy cutting.

I do use plexiglass for templates as well. Had a bunch of flat aluminum stock on hand from another project.

I use the Plexiglas as well as those carbide scribe pens with the interchangeable tips. Priceless!

52100 steel, wenge scales, red G10 liners, brass Colby and brass/stainless Loveless bolts. Tapered tang and distal taper towards the tip.

a smokin deal found on some speed adjustable exhaust fans, it turned out to be a 2 for 1. Always pays to scope the warehouse deals. I'll be using 4" merv 11 pleated filters, with 1" aluminum electrostatic prefilters. The idea will be to use one for steel and the other for everything else.

wow. I hate this job. Almost zero satisfaction just a sore back. Needs to be done so it's just grind it out til I get there. My whole shop rebuild is on hold til I build this stand and get the machine up on it. Layout depends on the machine's footprint, so when it's done I can go to town on more interesting things.

Steel too, isn't too bad.
