I've purchased about 25 knifes in the last 2 months and spent over $1,000 over the internet. I figure I've saved about 50% (maybe more, in some instances) off the MSRP. I would never have bought that many knives or spent that much in a live transaction. Now, have I "beat the system" or have I spurred the economy?

Neither one. I would say the internet is part of the system and you "spur" the economy in general no matter where you spend your money.
