Whats going on with Emerson

It's been like that for awhile with Emerson. Going on 2 years by now. I posted it in the Emerson board awhile back.

I think it has to do with counterfeit issues really. Like almost every other quality knife Emerson started getting some fakes in for warranty repairs and they were sold through some pretty rebuttal online dealers. This supposedly is their way of dealing with it. If you didn't buy direct from them then it is a fake in their eyes. When I asked how i could tell mine was real that was the first question they asked me. Where did I buy it and did I buy it from Emerson direct. And yes, shipping direct from Emerson sucks. Shipping is over $30 direct.
They really need to bake those shipping costs into the knife price. I don’t know about you all, but it is a psychological obstacle. A knife might be $275 with free shipping, and I’m happy. The same knife could be $240 and if I see shipping is $30 I’ll click “X” on the webpage and say “eff that crap!”

Emerson should understand this. All the distributors do.

Greetings, I have handled a few of his offerings on different occasions, not for me they consistently felt unfinished, rough if you will. He must know what direction he wants to take HIS company, good on him , just not for me

In his defense, he is not the only one who is cashing on the "tacticool" trend.
Black Rifle Coffee was doing it for years. Not to get political but we saw resently how much they worth it...

skyhorse skyhorse yeah, we're going off topick but: l thought about it but where you get raw coffee from and more info on how exactly not to mess up the process ? I have decent espresso machine and always buy beans, never grinded coffee but roasting it to myself would require more time at least in my case. I dont have it... 🤣

Anyway - Emerson got any and all rights to sell and ship directly for a price forced by greedy carriers !

Honestly it's not a big deal. Sorry for drifting off topic.

I don’t care what he charges for shipping, I want the bottom line price for the item shown to me, shipped. If I want to do next day air or something like that, the extra cost should be on me.. but bake the $10-$15 to ship it in the advertised price. We are talking about $200-$300 knives here, not stickers and lanyards.

Not sure what or how you think it's the USPS or FedEx issue. I have shipped knives to both Spyderco and Benchmade for $5. For some reason Emerson charges $30 for shipping. The most I have ever paid to ship a knife is $11 that's with insurance.

Not to mention retailers like Blade HQ or Knives Ship FREE, offer free shipping.
