I bought a new Galyean Pro Series, large blue Lahar (#18) last November from True North Knives. It was very rough and gritty to open and I could hear squeaking and rubbing. It wouldn't even deploy with the flipper. So, I emailed Tim and he said send it back, he'd take care of me. I did and I emailed him again after I saw deliverly conformation showed it delivered. He said he'd received it and would get it fixed up and would talk to me soon. I waited until the last of December and started emailing him about it. I've emailed him 6 times now with no response at all and I've tried his phone many times as well. No answer. His last post on his forum here was back in September of last year. I just would like to know about my 475 dollar knife.- It seems impossible for me to find out. I sure wish now I'd returned it where I bought it rather than trying to get Tim to take care of it, as I have 540 dollars in it. (30 dollars shipping from TNK, 15 dollars to Tim, plus 20 dollars cash to him to return it) That's the most I've paid for a knife in my life, and to just have it gone with Tim not responding to my inquiries is not a good feeling.:(

maybe try sending thomas w. from kershaw a pm or email. he may be able to contact galyean for you.

I just sent Thomas a PM, thanks. I'd forgot about his connection with Tim, through Kershaw. I don't mind it taking as long as needed to fix the Lahar, but I'd like to know especially since Tim said "talk to you soon" back in November. (he also implied it wouldn't be taking long to fix it)

Tim goes out hunting a lot and has no access to his emails. On some occasions I've had to wait 2 weeks plus but he's always come through. Maybe calling him would help. He'll fix it up, no issue. I got him to tweak my Turbulence as well, the damn thing fires like a rocket without busting my forefinger either.

Tim, doesn't answer his phone.(# on his website) He's been hard to get in contact with a lot longer than 2 weeks. In fact I've emailed him since the 17Th of December with no response. I will just have to wait and I suppose my knife will be back sooner or later.

That's really sad. I can only imagine how you must be feeling. You wouldn't expect this type of behavior from someone is his standing. I'm sure he's probably got a good reason, or possible your emails are mistakenly ending up in his "spam" folder. Maybe try to have someone else contact him? Either way, I wish you the very best of luck, and I hope that this gets resolved in a timely manner.

Looks like later than sooner. Sorry to hear that, Jill.

Thomas of Kershaw is supposed to ask TG, about it. He told me to take a deep breath everything will be OK, and Tim will take care of me. I suppose I will just have to continue to wait. A answer to one of my 6 emails to TG, would have avoided all of this.

That is really surprising, I bought 3 of his Lahars, two on forums and one from Neil at TNK, and all were flawless. I suspect there might be something wrong with the IKBS on yours, maybe a badly positioned ball bearing. I would contact Neil, explain the situation to him and let him contact Tim on your behalf.

I'm going to close this thread for now. Everything that I could do to find out about the status of my knife has been done. I have assurance from Thomas I will be taken care of. I don't know why Tim didn't respond to my emails. (I thought I'd have found out by now) I will just continue to wait and I suppose I'll get my knife back in good working order, in the near future.

I've still not heard the first word about my knife from TG.
So, it's looking like Tim isn't communicating with anyone for some odd reason and I'm without any information at all on my knife. He can't come on here and explain why he won't answer my emails?

I now have found out Tim, hasn't been answering anyone for months at all. So, it's not looking like he's at all worried about my knife and the 20 dollars cash he's got of mine.

I've bought a number of knives directly from Tim and this is the email addy that I have:

tjgalyean@hotmail.com

I don't think he actually works for Kershaw any longer, or at least in their facility.

Jill - I'm sorry to hear that - and thanks for keeping us in the loop on this.

I was really contemplating a Galyean - but with this lack of response it has me a little concerned.

Hopefully there's a good reason why Tim has gone incognito for a while and it's not because of anything real bad.

I hope you get your knife back - I can only imagine how frustrating this must be for you.

Neil at TNK, has been helping me with this all along.
He now has told me he will be sending me his last large blue Lahar, not that he is responsible for any of this at all, but he wants to make me whole as a professional dealer. He has refused any payment at all, even though I offered to pay him something. All I can say is,!!!!!

Neil has proven himself time after time to be one heck of a guy.

That is truly a kewl thing for neil and TNK to do!!!

I see some of Tim's knives on E-bay for close to 8K. What a mistake that would be to pay that much for a knife and find the maker refuses to communicate. Only DEAD Makers are allowed to be silent when their knives sell for four figures!!!

it's almost unbelievable that he just disappeared like this. does anyone know if he's supposed to be attending the SHOT show?

Strange he dropped off of his forum here in September, he also started to not answer anyone then. Then I email him in Nov. about my knife and he responds and says send it back and 20 dollars cash, to return it and for his time.(he also said talk to you soon) Then he won't answer me after that.
