What's happening in the David Mary Custom shop?

One of my favorite sayings herein applies. Like new only better.

So far so good. The new platen held up very nicely for its first day on the job. Jarod shipped the hardened AEB-L blanks from the santokus and Mustelid Scouts yesteryesterday. I have a half dozen blanks left in stock plus some cut offs and the AEB-L reblades I can turn into knives so I will be working through that until they arrive, which past experience suggests will be two to four weeks from now, depending on customs clearance.

Outstanding. Hope you can get yourself a little Rest, recuperation, and fun before everything shows up and you have nothing but work to do. Good news on the shipment.

I've had enough hibernation/staycation time, and now that my supplies and replenished, shop reorganized and tidied, and equipment repaired, I want to get the rest of these made up before the AEB-L shows up so that I have literally nothing to make knives from except that run.

While I break some coffee here is another wip, Aebl 4 3/8" with antique cross cut Micarta and spacers consisting of red linen, basswood and zebra wood with basswood liners.
