I like that one. This knife wasn't going to come with a sheath initially but a friend convinced me to make one for it. It's on its way out the door to him tomorrow.

David: I forgot to mention to you that the Permethrin sold to wash clothes in makes a huge difference with keeping skeeters away and is nice with no odor or oily residue. Also- it may sound sophmoric, but if I need more repellant when out in the woods, I spray a bandana that I wear around my neck and my csp ( that way I don’t need to apply any to my face). Stay safe.
As you said- always best to avoid if possible. I always wear an undershirt, and as David knows I have mosquito traps at the house and cabin. I hate mosquito repellant on skin and the non-deet (such as citronella and other ‘natural’ repellants really do nothing for the skeeters and biting flies at my remote property. The conchs found on birch trees when burned deter them some, but when doing chores and running saws there isn’t lot’s of choice.A lot of that kind of stuff isn't great for our health so avoiding direct skin contact is probably a good idea. I'm guessing there is a way to treat the perimeter or have some treated stuff placed strategically.
I haven't tried this but I've seen positive posts and videos about using DIY fan traps to thin the hordes.
The clothing sold by multiple companies like ExOfficio and LL Bean for ‘bug off’ outer wear uses it.I won't put that stuff on my skin. And I just laundered the clothes I sprayed it on after work anyway. Never heard of permethrin before, but looking into it also.
I believe permethrin is sold to treat scabies and lice.I won't put that stuff on my skin. And I just laundered the clothes I sprayed it on after work anyway. Never heard of permethrin before, but looking into it also.
