What's happening in the David Mary Custom shop?

If you ever make a really big one , might name it for the Giant River Otter :

The giant otter has a handful of other names. In Brazil it is known as ariranha, from the Tupíword ari'raña, meaning water jaguar (Portuguese: onça-d'água).[6] In Spanish, river wolf (Spanish: lobo de río) and water dog (Spanish: perro de agua) are used occasionally (though the latter also refers to several different animals) and may have been more common in the reports of explorers in the 19th and early 20th centuries.[7] All four names are in use in South America, with a number of regional variations. "Giant otter" translates literally as nutria giganteand lontra gigante in Spanish and Portuguese, respectively. Among the Achuar people, they are known as wankanim,[8] among the Sanumá as hadami,[9][10][verification needed] and among the Makushi as turara.[11] The genus name, Pteronura, is derived from the Ancient Greekwords πτερόν (pteron, feather or wing) and οὐρά (oura, tail),[12] a reference to its distinctive, wing-like tail.[13]

I favor the Spanish "River Wolf" = Lobo de Rio !

I have a few more Speed Weasels I can build before I run out of stock on the blanks.

What wood is that , on the knife in the middle , next to last pic ? Nice pattern . I like it a lot ! :)

Light brown and swirly with resin.

Actually, I started a thread a while back asking for help identifying the stabilized woods I got in trade, but I can't find it now.

I started a new thread with this pic of the stabilized woods I have. Each pair of scales will add $30 to a knife build. Most are still available for full scale sets, except 8 and 5, of which all I have left are small cut offs which have been thrown into the "maybe find a use for eventually" pile along with a ton of other cut offs.

Maybe you’ll use them on a dagger with segmented scales or something. Who knows?! :) 🤷🏼‍♂️

What, you don’t want me to make that a standard feature on every knife?
