What's happening in the David Mary Custom shop?

Tough enough for what?
You tell us, David. What do you think are the upper limitations on a knife of that thickness? Can it punch through a car hood? Will the edge roll if it hits bone? I know aebl is strong enough to support those thin edges but your knowledge is far netter than the average Joe. What is it strong enough for?

No.

No.

This: ⬇️

To just get thru the fight .

It’s fairly hard AEBL at 3/32”. Urban self defense, absolutely. Combat knife or boar hunting knife? No.

Thought it was illegal to make tapered tangs by freehand grinding on ghetto grinder with dirty old worn out ceramic platen. I guess for me it’s not. Not any more, at least on AEBL at 61 RC.

That’s what I did while waiting for the glue to cure on this weasely little fella:

So it’s back to orders with me then. Gotta try and clear all the ROFRs before the MagnaCut arrives.

David,
I love that lighter dagger. This statement: "It’s fairly hard AEBL at 3/32”. Urban self defense, absolutely. Combat knife or boar hunting knife? No."-- with a focus on the Combat knife aspect, excepting grunt pry bar use. How much thicker would you go to feel comfortable? 1/8", 5/32"-- without ruining the idea of "light" dagger.
I can own in Virginia, just cannot carry but I will not AWLAYS be in/live in Virginia ;) . I still love my "un" dagger/dagger.

The first Velargo, modded to have a slimmer handle by request of the gentleman. AEBL sharp and fast, it gets its name for its speed (vel) and wide blade (largo).

Orange tailed weasel. Gets it’s name from the purple shirt and straw hat it wore to the beach.

Can you post the last 2 pics holding the dagger, but with your whole hand and the handle visible too?

I’d like to get a better idea on size overall.
