What's happening in the David Mary Custom shop?

looks like I won't be able to get to the post office until monday, so I thought I would ask my fellow David Mary fans for their design input! If David was making this big ole chopper for you (I'm thinking of calling it the Big Foot), what would you change about the profile before he sent it out for heat treat?

And lets go beyond the profile. Lets see what handle material/color you would go with! I'm personally thinking a nice micarta, but I can be talked into almost anything.
Lose the nipple by the ricasso, clip the point, and for handles... Black and yellow g10 like he did on the bumblebee toucan

the nipple was definitely a design choice I questioned lol Do you think I should bring it to a point or just cut her off? (try and avoid that mental image!)

I didn't get to the shop today, I went to town with Chris instead. Chris is the owner of the property where the shop is set up. We went shopping. I grabbed a couple tools, an airtight tote to store stuff at the shop in, and finally bought my first ever cutting mat, for use at home when preparing boxes for shipping. Still going to try to have that seax knife ready for Monday.

I'm curious how it holds as is?
To me it looks Fun, but kinda off.....

I love tall blades, but what is that? Over 3" ?
Id make the height shorter. I wonder with that tall blade height, will it torque the handle, idk?
Thin the pommel to make it comfortable to choke back on for big swings
Definitely remove the hook, round the heel. I don't like snags

But again..... Definitely a Fun look.

I have been super busy, but I was able to get a good half an hour on the belts. I didn't want to take too much off of the blade, but if David thinks it will benefit from a little extra work, I am certainly gonna trust him on that.

Overall, my grinds are gonna need some clean up, but I look forward to seeing how my baby turns out! 🥳

I have it at 3" and I do worry that it will torque the handle, but the height of the blade is kind of the novelty for me. I want this blade to be almost silly in it's dimensions (hence the bigfoot name I am leaning towards).

Then it's Perfect..... I sometimes just like doing things, just because &
I'm sure David will add another level of awesomeness

I appreciate all the kind words. I started some of these while at the old place, and here they are and maybe a new one. Just about ready. I made the decision for the first time in a while to use CA instead of Gorilla Glue on the carbon steel knives. The ones with jimping in this case. I think a lot of people think of any texture as uncomfortable, but I have grown to like it. It helps grip and saves weight. It feels so strange to type this up while I am at home and the knives are in the shop. Normally I'd be turning them over in my hand right now and typing what comes to mind. Well I'll see them again tomorrow.

One of the Bladeforums supporting dealers has commissioned me for a run of about thirty sub 3" hawkbill EDC knives. So instead of getting into the shop today, I spent time at home getting everything in place for the run, i.e. ordering the steel, and heat treatment, preparing the CAD files, and ordering laser cutting from Mark at Leading Edge. Looking forward to finishing those four knives tomorrow.
