What's happening in the David Mary Custom shop?

I'm a little short on clamps in the shop, so handle assembly part of the process is a bit of a bottle neck at this time... BUT - all scales are prepped and 5 of the 8 remaining knives are assembled and glue is curing. The remaining three will be assembled tomorrow. Handles will all be shaped tomorrow, and with any luck I can finish them as well so they can all ship together Friday. That's the hope and plan for now.

If you're wondering why they're mummified in painter's tape: It's a new part of my process of transporting finished knives from the shop back home by bicycle. I have to put them in my backpack, and there no guaranteed way to ensure the backpack is perfectly dust free, so if the sheaths are sealed, dust cannot get in after the fact.
why not just put them in a big plastic bag?

also,i recommend some rear panniers for your bike..having nothing on your back is really liberating and you can transport more stuff too..

Started early today. Three hours of assembly and handle shaping followed by five hours of tweaking and hand sanding the handles. Only to 400 grit so far and not done yet.

Materials were sent by customer. Blue handles knife is an original "on the fly" design. I consider it a drop point skinner, but it's big and could do an awful lot. But it won't because these are supposed to be showpieces, something I never really thought I'd find myself making... acid etch coming once I work up the nerve hah

That blue handled one is killer, David. I’ll take it! 😂🤣😂🤣

12 hours in the shop, and worked on six knives. Here are the others I referred to:

Top is EDC with carbon fiber scales, middle is paring knife for Chris' parents-in-law, and bottom one is slim pseudo wharncliffe.
