What's that you're eating?

Went to New Bedford for an early dinner. Wife got Chilean sea bass, and I got another lobstah roll (this time the traditional cold style; got the warm buttered style the other day). Also got chowdah and bang bang shrimp apps, and in honor of Judas Priest, had a Painkiller (and then the beer in the pic).

Roasted a 4# TriTip last night . . . rubbed it w/a salt, pepper, sugar, coffee blend:

Roasted it a 250F for 1.5 hrs:

Sliced off #1 & froze the rest because I can't eat all of that meat in 1 sitting all by myself:

It came out on the high side of med rare but it's still ok to be lightly reheated so it doesn't overcook.

It's just not as rare as I prefer it. Gotta watch the cook time more carefully the next time. 🤷‍♂️
 
Sat is our 24th anniversary, but we’re moving the boy back to school that day, so we decided to do our anniversary dinner tonight. I had short rib, and the wife had Chilean sea bass, which wasn’t great at first. She told them it was dry, and they brought her another piece that was 100% better.

Lunch today . . . a Smoked Corned Beef Reuben on Rye w/some sliced pickles & a glass of Pliny the Elder:

I love the Pliny. I deliver firewood bundles to a little roadside store with a grill out back and they have it on tap or in 510ml bottles. That paired with the garlic butter grilled Humboldt Bay oysters that they have on the weekends is about as good as it gets.
