Whats the Dullest Knife You Ever got New?

The dullest one in current memory was a Buck 301.

I don't ever remember getting a sharp Gerber, but it's been a few years since I bought one.

Not to worry. They all sharpen up just fine. OOB sharpness carries little weight in my evaluation of the quality of a knife.
(Though I admit I find the thought of a dull D2 blade somewhat intimidating.)

A Boker AFD. Terry at Boker replaced it under warranty. The replacement came very sharp indeed.

Fixed: Scrapyard DC dumpster mutt, I have had spoons that were sharper than this thing, but a couple of passes on my belt grinder fixed that.

Folder: Blackhawk Hornet 2, could not even cut paper. I also have a Queen D2 gunstock that came so dull it could not cut cardboard.

All my Queen's and Case's were dull as a deer antler, but my Newt Livesay knives, well made and well designed as they are, were outstandingly dull from the maker. After being reprofiled, they all take and keep a great edge.

That's is intolerable. We should talk about that piece of junk coming to me for disposal. :p

For me, all my Queens and Cases, and a Ranger RD7. All very dull out of the box.

Mine was a Bark River. The second most dull was a KOA, However they made it sharp and returned it in less than a week and paid the shipping both ways, they sent me a check for shipping it to them. One of my sharpest was a Gerber Gator in 154CM.

My worst was a Benchmade fixed griptillion it came unsharpened, sent it back to Benchmade.it is now one of my sharpest knves.

Red class Benchmade PikaII.Took the Sharpmaker to it and still
could not get a decent edge on it.Took it back to my dealer
and he spent about 10 minutes on it with his grinder before it
was acceptable.I promptly gave it away and have not bought
any China made Benchmade's since.:thumbdn:

Busse BAD. The edge was...BAD. But it sharpened up nicely with a little effort. Must have been a Monday morning edge.

Cold steel machete.if it wasn't for the semi bevel I wouldn't have been able to tell wich end was for cutting.

My 4116 krupp tanto from coldsteel had a terrible edge, I sharpened it up and it is my best knife. Not saying a lot, but I have a small collection. :D

BM Mini PikaII. I could have cut paper with my thumb nail easier. Took a Lansky to it and completely redid the edge, holding up so far.
