Lookin at my display case and the handful of knives just sittin on my desk right now. I'm gonna guess that not one of them is more than 4 oz. I typically carry a PM2 or a Mini Ritter grip. I prefer the grip though, I get almost the same blade length with half the handle and it is nice in the hand plus leaves room in the bottom of my pocket for a SAK and a lighter, sometimes my keys and a ps4 squirt too in the same pocket, depending on the pants.

My username says it all. Obviously its not true, but I like them heavy, my lightest knife is BM 940. Soon to have a 10.6 oz Ontario that's going to make BM Adamas jealous.

Spyderco military 4.2 oz and plenty of blade and a str lowrider to keep it out sight

Does a leatherman wave count as a folder? Because that's the heaviest thing I will carry and only on my person if I can't have some kind of bag.

I used to carry Benchmade Osborne 943 but i sell it because now im carrying a Leatherman Charge ALX which is fairly heavy with the pocketclip im a father of reconstructed family of 7 kids i need to be equip with multi-tool.

That's not a heavy folder. THIS is a heavy folder:

15 ounces. ;)

I carry a variety of folders, like most people. The heaviest might be the ZT0303 or the ZT055# series. The weight doesn't bother me to the point where I feel off balance. Sometimes I will carry a lighter folder, depends on what is going on.
My XM-18, because it has a large mass of Ti and Duratech 20CV.

I was lucky enough to score one of those a few years ago. It was a prelogo and prestamp version. Heck of a nice knife.

The heaviest is certainly my 0561 - which I chose for the sake of peace of mind. I don't want to have to hesitate at all when I need to cut something. I wanted something that was built like a tank and could take basically anything I threw at it.

Really, that's been my aim since I started buying knives. My first knife that cost more than $20 was a CS Large Voyager. The lock met the sturdiness requirements I had, but the blade steel proved very disappointing; rapid dulling, edge folding, rust spots in a non-humid environment... Not to mention the sandpaper-like handle that aimed to destroy my cheap cargo shorts.

Weight in a folder isn't a big issue to me. I like a knife to have some substance to it. Also, living in Oklahoma, having a pocket knife causes no alarm whatsoever. Even in the more metropolitan areas of Tulsa, people can occasionally be seen open carrying handguns and fixed blade knives. My folders are pretty inconspicuous by comparison.

The heaviest folder that I carry is my CS Spartan 21 s, that weighs in at 7.5oz. My Voyager XL is a close second at 7.2oz. I'm 6'4" and 270lbs with large hands so the weight of these knives is not an issue, and they're size fit my hands better than smaller folders.

My heaviest folder I actually carry from time to time is a Buck 110 folding hunter.

Why? Because it's a class act. :)

My heaviest folder is a crkt foresight. I carry it sometimes but my 0561 and my Southard have taken most pocket time.

The title says it all. I'll go first.

The heaviest folder I carry weighs less than 3.0 ounces. I work in an office in Los Angeles. My knife tasks are limited to operations such as opening mail and boxes, removing shrink wrap, light food prep, etc. I don't like to advertise that I have a knife on me, so I carry my folders unclipped deep in my pocket. Any folder that weighs more than 3 ounces takes up too much pocket space. My current rotation consists of three William Henry knives, a Buck Mayo TNT, and a couple of customs from Rod Olson and Alan Davis. My next EDC purchase will be a large CRKT Eros.

Thanks for participating. :)

I alternate between jeans and business attire, working in office environments with a bunch of road travel (Chicago, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Louisville, Minneapolis, St. Louis, etc.) For business attire I've usually carried something under 3 ounces, the rest of the time I try to stay under around 4 ounces.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that has a focus on pocket-friendliness to their folders.

This is why my favorite three Benchmades have been the 707, 940 and 710--they're all super small and pocket friendly for the amount of blade they provide.

Thanks again for putting me onto the William Henry knives, btw. I liked my E6 enough as a dressy knife to find myself an E10 as well. :)

My heaviest is the Southard
Lightest is the Mnandi at 1.5 oz. Sits in the bottom of my pocket at work everyday. I wear business atire and work in an office.
When the weekend comes, one of my spydercos is clipped to my jeans (delica, endura, Sage 2, M390 Para, or Southard).
Sometimes I have to sit there for a while deciding which one to give pocket time to. My wife just shakes her head like I am crazy (which I probably am).

Heaviest folder I currently carry is the Boker Epicenter. It's 6.5 oz according to the website. I have never seen the big deal/inconveniece with an extra ounce or 2 on a knife.

The heaviest folder currently in my EDC rotation is a Blur, which weighs in at 4 oz. The others are a Leek (3.1 oz), Skyline (2.5 oz), Mini-Griptilian (2.6 oz), and Delica (2.3 oz). I like more compact, lighter-weight knives because they are more comfortable to carry (sit unnoticeable in the pocket until they are needed). I had phased the Blur out of my EDC rotation a while back because of its size, but after putting together my dream Franken-Blur (green CF handles w/ CPM154 blade), I just couldn't just let it sit in storage... ;)

I do have larger/heavier knives, the largest probably being a ZT0301 at 8oz. I will carry them every now and then, but the vast majority of the time, I have one of the lighter ones mentioned above.
