A ZT 0560 which I think just passes 6 OZ with the clip and a lanyard. ACU pockets are large and loose so it's not uncomfortable and no ware near heavy enough to make my pants sag when using a riggers belt. And, when I think of the weight of a full ruck which can hit 80 lbs and you add body armor, weapon, and other gear, a few more ounces are insignificant.

I carry 1 9.5oz folder. Badblood Firespitter. I also carry a spyderco tenatious which is under 6oz. And I carry a CRK&T m16-04Z which is around 7-8oz.. I prefer heavy knives. I also like long blades.... The Firespitter is 3.94 inches 1 1/4 wide blade and full stainless liners.. No lightening up,he's a TANK... Bout the same size as the ZT 0300 series. And at$40 bucks is a great tool.. The steel is the same on the Firespitter as it is on the tenatious. My mind says" the heavier the better". I have all three production knives from badblood/Kendrick's and the FS is the heavyest. These are great value knives. The blade steel is the same as the tenatious. Holds a super sharp edge.. Worth every penny.... The only knife I substitute for the FS is the M16-04z. This was my first knife I ever bought. It's almost 9 years old. I have the 1 without the auto lawks.

I don't care for heavy folders, and don't own one over 5oz. Large Sebenza is the heaviest I carry.

edit- realized I do own folders over 5oz. Large slipjoints with multiple blades that I don't carry.

I normally wear light short pants to be comfortable in the Florida heat so my carries are around 3 oz or so, i.e Spyderco Zulu, CRK Ti-Lock, Jeff Chaffee and Don Greenaway customs. When I put on my big boy pants my carry may increase to < 6 oz., ZT 0551, Spyderco Gayle Bradley, MT Whale Shark or a BM 755. I also have a Kershaw Spec Bump which I would love to carry, but oh that pocket clip.

I don't get how the weight of a knife correlates to the type of pants some people wear. I constantly carry my 301 AND a Sig p220 in my elastic band workout pants..... Holds up just fine....so I can't imagine that a few ounces of knife can pull your pants down to the point it is noticeable.

Right now my edc is a zt0550. I've carried heavier, and will be again as soon as I get my 0301. I like thick blades for those times I find myself with multiple jobs, and only 1 tool (my knife). A thick blade dressed in thick handles is usually a little hefty. It's just the way I like 'em.

I totally understand. This time of year some people can't even keep their pants on in K-Ville :)

Kershaw TG1 at 4.4 oz
Swisstool Spirit sometimes in the field (in addition to a folder) at 7.4 oz.

There's just no need for anything heavier for the work I do. The TG1 is overkill at that.

I don't know. Somehow dragging around an 0301 in dress slacks just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. And dress slacks are what I wear day in and day out. Plus I work in an office in Los Angeles around a whole bunch of sheeple. Can you imagine their reaction if I pulled out an 0301 to open the mail?
