What's The Last Thing Your EDC Cut?

Today I used my work EDC (a black blade Delica) to cut the old tape off of my radiographic lead markers so I could re-tape them.

Later I used the Delica to cut some tape that was holding the patient's head to the EMT's backboard (EMT's LOVE TAPE!!!).

And my knife-less co-worker borrowed my Delica to cut some oxygen tubing.

2 zip ties on a dog carrier while shopping at petsmart with my sere 2000. The manager helping yelled, that's not a knife that's a machete.

One may get the impression from other threads that most folks use their EDCs to field dress mastadons, cut through prison bars, hack apart pressure treated 4x4s, fix bear stew for 200 Hell's Angels, and then sharpen it on a cinder block and start over. All before 5 a.m.

So its good to see I'm not the only on here who uses an EDC for more mundane stuff like letter opening, Ninja turtles embedded in Toys-R-Us plastic, and teaching non-compliant pizza boxes who The Man is.

cheers

The last thing I cut was some cardboard for a design project. That was with a Vic Swisschamp. Out of curiosity, I made repeated cuts with my other EDC, a BM large Grip, just to see differences in cuts (shapes, size, etc).

Today my 556 Mini-Griptilian cut open the plastic and the box that a new Maxtor 80GB hard drive came in.

It's not cut anything since. :(

I batoned my leek through some small pieces of maple to split them for a fire I was tending, and I used the leek to cut the plastic off a tub of cool-whip.

It was also used to cut open a new toothbrush package today at work.

This happened yesterday at one of my rental properties. Ka-Bar/Dozier - opening bags of dirt for my wife. Byrd Crow - scraping paint, trimming drywall, scraping plaster off scraper, digging out old silicone sealant around kitchen counter, cutting up fibreglass tape for drywalling. Endura 3/CE - cutting up chunks of drywall, cutting up door jam to fit striker plate, digging out silicon sealant around bathtub.

About 15 minutes ago I cut open a plecostamus to show a buddy what a tumour in a fish looks like.
Buck Alpha fixed, rubber grips

Update:

Today I put it through its paces. It was yard work day so cut today were: twelve 40# bags of top soil, several small tree roots that were in the way, "drilled" a breather hole in a plastic container, and cut some dead growth near the fences.

Afterwards it was cleaned and put back in the left pocket. Dinner was at the local Chinese restaurant where the butter knife was doing a poor job on the General Tso Chicken so the EDC was called back into duty.

I was at my niece's birthday party today(she turned 2, we were at Chuck E. Cheese's) and she got a new doll, I had to cut open the box.
My 806D2 took care of the box nice and quick.

The last thing my 556 Mini-Grip cut as of now was 4 filet mignons on the grill to see if they were the right shade of pink in the middle. They were great. :D
