The title says it all, whats the most $ you ever gave for a knife?

I just recently started buying higher end knives so mine would be $127 for a new ZT 0200.

$280 I think? I have some awesome knives and rarely spend more than $200. I just don't think I will get more knife spending more money than that. In fact some of the sprint runs with exotic steels I find a better knife that is more unique than many of the more expensive knives that are popular around here.

$128 for my ZT 350CB. It was worth it. I'll be paying more for the ZT 551 soon. Hopefully by the end of the week.

$425 for a Strider SnG.

i had some buyers-remorse when i first purchased it because it was so simple and basic looking. i just didnt see where my money went. but now i really do enjoy my SnG.

900 for a Burn stiletto.

$225 for a custom "bowie"-style knife, and it was absolutely worth it. That's very rare though, only one other time perhaps did I spend over $200.

I occasionally shop in the $150 neighborhood, but the most satisfaction comes from finding good quality knives in the $50-$100 range. There's lots of great stuff out there for under $100, especially if you watch for closeouts and specials.

For example, my last purchase was a couple of Condor knives and a small Buck fixed blade. All three for under a hundred dollars.

$400 if you count a Rodent Waki as a "knife". $250 for a Fiddleback Forge, I love the knife, it's unique fits like a glove, and is beautiful. Time will always tell as to if it was worth it.
thing is, money aside, get what you need. Size, blade geometry, and edge thickness goes a long way. A very nice expensive knife may not do all jobs that well, just depends on what you expect. My RC5 would not be what I grab for food prep, fish processing, or fine work.
Just saying you can get a bunch of decent knives for various jobs and they will work. I have been drooling over some very expensive knives, but I don't go there.

if the Rodent Waki counts, $440 + $19 S&H i don't regret it and would not be intrested in selling it.

btw - i seriously doubt Gollnick is kidding and would love to see a pic :)
