whats the most you ever paid for a knife?

I've spent in excess of $2K four or five times with no regrets on various custom 'art' automatics and folders from makers like Steigerwalt, Corbit, Minnick and Osborne. Great hand-craftsmanship, unique design work and top materials and F&F aren't cheap. IME, you generally get exactly what you pay for from the well established custom makers.

$300 for a Strider PT CC. I had some buyers remorse when it didn't live up to my expectations. I traded it a while later and don't plan on going over $200 in the future.

595 for a les george folder.

i cant really see myself going over a grand, only because all the designs and types i like are available under 1000. but i certainly can understand spending thousands on one knife.

$620 for a NIB 3" XM-18 flipper with brown scale. I am insane. But it's comforting in a strange sort of way to know that many of you share my insanity.

P.S. Please don't tell the Misses. She might just use it on me!!

The most I've paid is $150 or so. My Custom SDS Nessmuk and the Bark River Northstar I used to have both cost about that. Any more and I might be afraid to use it!
