This forum has some serious knife fanatic. Just whats the most you've spent on a single knife. (or the most wife will allow you to spend). Its crazy how people would spend 500+ on a single knife. And most people/ all people on this forum doesn't just get 1 knife they get the whole damn collection. This is how much i've spent: 200 on set of Alaskan knife, 120 SOG seal 2000, 150 rat rc-5, 140 HEST, 80 leatherman wave, 70 Izula, 50 spyderco native, and 40 on a hachet. thats about 850 dollars worth of steel and thats hurting my pockets already. some folks here spend that much on 1 knife. Well i guess if you got the money than you deserve the knife. I need to stay off this forum, its making me go crazy. i was just trying to get an EDC and ended up with a backpack full of knives. I bow down to all you knife folks especially the Busse group, money is no object when it comes to your knives.

The most I have spent so far on one knife is $185, the knife itself was only $150 but I purchased a custom made clip for it. I will probably start saving up and get me a nice graduation present next year, hopefully a large sebenza with snake wood scales and I may send it off for engraving so $500. To each their own though, off course I go for quality over quantity any day. Also I only buy knives that I know I will use.

edit: And if money is pretty tight, which it usually is then I will go and work odd jobs and cut down on those fast food trips and slowly save up the money for a decent knife. :D But birthday money, Christmas money, and tax return money helps out a lot.

My most expensive knife (which I haven't received yet) is a Scrapyard S5. I expect it any day now. That cost around 115, and I still have to get a sheath for it. I can't see myself spending more than around 150 for a knife. I'm currently getting rid of some I don't use, and am just going to keep a few users to rotate between. That's my plan anyway.

I hear ya Snoop. I spend way too much on steel. But sometimes knife lust gets the better of me. And with knives you gotta spend a little to get a quality blade.

The problem with expensive knives, is that I was reluctant to use 'em hard. So what's the point? Not any more: get good steel and use it.

The most ive spent is on a sword $275, then my HI Khukuri $165, I have a bunch of $75 to $100 knives. My next knife is gonna b the RC-5, and I think the most I would spend on a knife is about $500. I just have so many hobbies that I have to spread the wealth... I just spent $2000 on a couple of guns.:D

+1:thumbup:, Why buy it if you don't plan on using the crap out of it (unless you plan on gifting it)

The most I have paid for a knife was $80 (that included shipping) for an RC-4.
I don't think I would spend more than $130-ish for a knife.

$703.36=505 euros is the most I would spend. I am saving for this pair and a custom left hand sheath.

Just dropped $220.00 on a Skookum Bush Tool Mk.1 in CPM 3V and am seriously thinking about getting on the list again.

Mine are all users as well. I would never drop a grand on a rifle and then not shoot it.

i spent about 160ish on a cold steel outdoorsman and thats my most expensive! i sorta regret that purchase cause now i would rather have more RATs.lol!

Spending money on a gun i can understand. Theres alot of parts you can upgrade. I guess some people are knife crazy. There are alot of great knives out there but once i see the price tag its just a turn off. This forum doesn't help either, it just makes you want more and more and more. Its like a damn drug. My wife would kill me if i spent 500 on a knife. You can buy a whole kitchen set of knives for that. I give alot of respect to you die hard knife freaks. I guess you can't put a value on your hobby. I'm not much of a knife freak but i do love my dogs. I've spent bout 10k on my dogs alone. Thats not including their food or vet bills. Got 3 olde english bulldogs= 8k, 1 doberman= 2k. Hopefully make money back with the bulldogs :)

Boats, Those look so good you could probably also post them in you other thread about history

i've got a few benchmades for 185ish, been using one of 'em for almost 7 years now, the other two go to weddings, funerals, and Christmas and Easter services. i've spent 100 a piece on a few knives, including a small lee ferguson. i have 3 steve voorhis knives;a a drop-point, a skinner, and a push dagger; around 20 years old each, that i paid a total of 175 for. i forsee at least two rc-3's and probably a 6 and another 'zula before too long...
any more i have trouble justifying a purchase unless i really plan to use it. gotta save up for a white gold ring now...

Well I figure if I buy myself a good knife, well say a sebbie, for graduation and I it use almost daily and I manage not to loose it, then the knife will probably out last me. :D Good investment I think.

My Sebenza is probably my favorite knife. It ain't fancy, but it's a great user.

Probably $500.00 of cutlery right in this photo. But I'm not sure an Izula doesn't serve as well as, or better than, all the above--at 1/10th the expense! Love the Izula.

Damn i guess knives to us guys are like diamonds to the ladies. I've seen some hardcore ladies on this forum too. Those are some pretty knives you got there Rotte. what steel is the sebenza? Hwpaintballer yeah good investment if you never loose it, once lost thats money down the drain. I've lost alot of knives fix and folders, bunch of drugs, and bunch of bitches. all waste of money. lol :(

Yeah Izulas are great but, uh, err, I'll edit in something later.

The most I have spent so far is about $160 for a Benchmade folder. I don't know how much I would spend to be honest, depends how bad I start obsessing over the knife probably. I can't see it being more than that, though. :o

:D Nah once lost I can reflect on how much use it saw and then justify buying another one, besides when you compare knives to other things like Ipods or cameras then its not that surprising to throw down $200 + for something that you will use and last you a good little bit.

I have a few nice kitchen knives, but I routinely use my favorite carbon steel puukkos in the kitchen and don't need anything more than a good bread knife otherwise. As soon as the "new knife" effect wears off, the Skookum is going on KP until my camping trip in August.

What is amusing to me is that while I like my RC products, they're mostly safe queens because my knife interests run mostly in a way the RCs don't go.

The SBT is as close to bomb-proof as I get. I like knives with zero degree edge geometry that will cut your finger CLEAN off if you handle them badly.:D

I think it's S30V. Fairly certain it's S30V. I've heard some negative remarks about S30V, but in my experience it is an excellent knife steel. Expensive, but good. I don't get too wrapped around the axle about steels any more; most all modern steel, when well heat treated, makes a good knife. I prefer the high carbon and tool steels, but I don't see a need to get too fussy.

That SBT is a nice lookin' blade Boats.
