Whats the most you would spend on a knife?

$200

My most expensive knife so far was $63 (Becker BK9)
I'll probably get an RC5 or a 6 sometime in the near future.

The RAT Cutlery line is right at the very edge of what I can afford, and also on the edge of what I would choose to afford if I were richer.

A skilled designer, fine fit and finish, quality materials, exceptional service/support, custom work. All that can command higher prices and I won't complain. But at a certain point I figure you're not buying more knife, you're buying more bragging rights.

So, not too long ago I sold off a few of the benchmades that I had and used the money to buy a Busse NMSFNO. I won't say the exact amount but it was over $300. The knife is absolutely fantastic, lives up to the hype and I plan to keep it for life...

+1 NMSFNO was a good Busse deal. I've shied away from a lot of deals for $400+, so I guess $342 is my record so far. Someday I'll probably pick up something from www.knifeart.com and that'll be that.

SnakeDoc! I just bought that same Estwing in your pic. Yours looks beautifully abused. Hows it held up? What do you sharpen it with? Sorry to Hijack..

Snoop408- Yea.. I just went to several jewelry stores while shopping for an engagement ring for my GF. I dont get them. thousands for tiny little things that are used for nothing more than to look at. Well.. I guess theres some kind of symbolism or sentimental value to them :).... but I'd rather have a KNIFE!

Man, you all are loaded with money! As with "Boats", my wife would kill me, too, if I spent that kind of money on knives. I was lucky to get my RC-4 a couple weeks ago!!!

Hey, what can I say?...my baby wears the pants when it comes financial matters. Well, maybe a couple other things, too ;)

Anyone kind enough to donate so I can get the RC-5?
:D

Start saving your change. I normally only use pennies and keep the rest. You'd be surprised how quick it adds up. I just counted mine yesterday and I'm up to about $65 after only about a month. Another month like that and I may be ready for a RC-3. :D
