What's the scoop on Chinese D2 steel?

Chinese D2 is barely adequate for committing misdemeanors. If you want to go full felony, better upgrade to American D2.

The Spyderco Hawk is very thick, and one piece of steel. Regardless of it being made from D2, it is highly likely that it will survive whatever you can do with it.

The steel source is not an issue, as Spyderco advertises the Hawk as a breaching tool. If it were to break, it would be covered under a warranty.

As far as using it for trespassing, that is a bad idea, and even worse to proclaim your intent on the internet.

So if it can't be used for 'breaching,' what am I supposed to use it for? It's as I've already alluded to, a $450 shelf ornament.
