What's the Sharpest and Dullest knives you've received out of the box

Canada has had quite a few politicians you would describe as the dullest knives in the drawer, but I don't recall any knives I've bought as seriously dull. The last few I've acquired, a Buck Pro 791 in CM-154, Buck Custom Shop 110 in Magnacut and an Emerson CQC-7B were all hair shaving sharp.

Hard to say what the sharpest “out of the box knife” was. Had a delica that was incredibly sharp. A ruike knife (surprisingly) was absolutely stupid sharp. Nothing that just was absolutely amazing that stands out because I usually sharpen up when I get a new knife. I just remember those two didn’t need much.

Dullest by far without a doubt was an A. Wright and sons stag Lambfoot. This was a new one and it was terrible. Literally blunt. Took me forever to get an edge on it.

Another was a benchmade (seems to be mentioned often here) canyon. It was pretty terrible but nothing like the Lamb. I sold every benchmade I owned shortly after getting that one but none of the rest were awful.

As a fellow Canadian I have to ask, where did you grab the Emerson from?

All my Benchmade are quite sharp, also FK U1, SAK, Buck 110 etc are very sharp. the dullest one is a little TOPS boot knife which bought many years ago.

Probably the dullest knives I have ever gotten "out of the box" were the knives we got as a wedding gift in a set of silverware. They came in a box along with all the spoons and forks and stuff.

*This.....Will be someone's Sharpest knife.
No question about it.
