I got a Benchmade 746 Mini Onslaught about a week ago and was completely blown away. It's what a higher end production should be. Perfect centering, solid lockup with no play, excellent fit & finish, and silky smooth. The one thing that surprised me most of all is how sharp it came. It's noticeably the sharpest production I've ever received out of box.

So what's the sharpest production knife you've gotten out of the box?

Original Masters of Defense Point Man Trident folder....years ago. Looked at the edge and bled...

I'm usually pretty disappointed...

Only once, was I impressed with a factory edge, and that was when I got an Umnumzaan straight from Idaho.

Either Victorinox or Spyderco seems to be the best on average for the knives I've bought, but they all need a bit of work.

Microtechs. (Pretty much all of them) Ridiculously sharp.
I cut some 4mm thick holster leather with a HALO 2 on one of those self-healing cutting mats & not only did it feel like I was slicing a piece of cheese, I cut through the mat as well.
Every person I hand one to that balks when I warn them how sharp they are manages to cut themselves.
