Whats the sharpest production knife youve ever received out of the box?

Microtech Combat Troodon, that blade is the only one I've had that I would describe as truly "cutting like a laser".

Survive GSO 3.5 in 3V.

I second this... I have owned a bunch of Survive! Knives and every one was insanely sharp. Currently I own a 5.1, 2x 3.5's and 2x Neckers they were all so sharp they could tree top hair. Generally no knife I buy is up to my level of sharpness out of the box, but the S!K's all were.

Also my White River Knives backpacker was equally sharp.

As far as folders... Usually my ZT's are the sharpest out of the box.

I just received a 2015 Emerson Commander (undated version) that was seriously sharp, much more so than what I expected (I've had a LOT of Emersons). Perhaps the sharpest was one of the Spydie Gayle Bradley's I've owned. And I have been pretty amazed at the sharpness of my Medford Praetorian T, especially for such thick blade stock. Actually, now that I think about it, the sharpest was definitely my zero ground chisel Super Roadhouse Ernie custom.

Victorinox are great from the couple I've had, but ill also say the southern grind bad monkey!

my current microtech ultratech. It is insane. I have had a ton of knives and there have been a few that sliced extremely well but the edge did not last. This ultratech though is so sharp defines scary.

I agree the Buck 112 is awfully sharp out of the box. Dressed a large buck with it and I found it more workable being smaller than the 110 for getting up into the body cavity and esophagus area.

So far, thats anything made by spyderco and FFG ground.

Ironically, my old rat-1 also came wicked sharp......which wasn't expected at its cost.

Neither are sharp enough for me, but the first thing i do to a new knife I plan to use is fix the edge anyhow....so no factory grind does it for me.

Small Sebenza 21 had the same edge I usually put on which was a nice surprise, the zpd-189 Delica I had was absurdly sharp out of the box. It was also my first foray into super steels years ago so that was much appreciated.

Vallotton & Diskin colab of a scale release D/A auto. I know, it surprised me too
