What's the smoothest folder you have ever felt?

THe one that stands out in recent memory was a worn in and a well oiled Spyderco Paramilitary. There have been others though.

Spyderco Calypso Jr. The very first batch (the one with warped blade). Also my Military CPM440V is really smooth.

I'm going to have to agree with some of the other posters here. BM seems to do smooth actions pretty consistently for a production company. As a fairly poor college student, I can't afford some of the high end knives mentioned here but I can occasionally snag BM's which work out perfectly for me.

My personal favorite in my collection right now is my 746 Mini-Onslaught, thing is ridiculously smooth for a production folder and I think it may smooth out a bit more with a little use and another cleaning. My 940 is next up, then my 520, which feels slightly gritty. My 580 cannot really be felt since it is assisted.

Finally, like some others have said, the BM Dejavoo series are ridiculous. I can't believe how smooth those knives are. Wish BM would bring them back, along with a couple other models.

My CRK 'StarTac' Umnumzaan... not new out of the box, but a few hours later... slight breakin required. Tired, but true, it illicits the 'I'm not worthy!' response every time I deploy it. My JYDII in Ti/SG-2 are second place - and not by much!

my cuz's umnum is pretty smooth but my xm 18 is for sure the smoothest knife I have ever opened. The washers are the reason ,I think they're teflon or something?

Out of all the knives I have had over the years the BM 556 takes top honors on being the smoothiest. Probably one of the most practical knives I have owned and still have.

My....

CRK&T Ken Onion RIPPLE w/. IKBS....Good Grief....smooth
Spyderco Calypso Jr.
Benchmade 480 SHOKI
Benchmade 943

i believe im the first to mention the kershaw cyclone.

this thing is crazy smooth ( i took the torsion bar out ) for a knife that was around 40-50 dollars, it cant be beat.

manix 2 is also very smooth.

Any Sebenza. They are the only folders I've got (and I've got crates full at this point) that don't have axial play. That may or may not translate as "smoothest" to everyone, but that's an essential part of the definition from my point of view.

Zt 0200. Its so smooth, espically considering its size. The slightest flick on the thumb stud is all it takes. Locks tight as a drum..

RJ Martin Havoc! Straight from RJ, it opened like butter, but the blade retention was fantastic... I wish I had never traded it.
