What's the worst thing you've done to a knife?

I cut a refrigerator into little pieces with my basic 9. No damage to the knife at all. Cut through it like cheese.
I used the same knife to cut off and dig out some fenceposts. They were countersunk into the ground with concrete. I didn't know it until I'd chopped on the concrete on the first one for at least 10-15 minutes.
Damage? A couple rolls in the edge.
Busse rocks. \m/>_<\m/

A good start.
I batonned my eskabar through a tree branch with a brick once. And batoned a wooden toddler bed apart with it using a hammer wrapper in a rag. And threw it at some trees. Then demo'd a wardrobe with it using the hammer again. Hacked a double pillowtop matress apart. Hammered some nails back in on my deck with the pommel. Cut and stripped some speaker wire. And probably some crap I forgot.
Love that lil bastid.

I void warranties.

I plunged one into a girl that I was interested in's upper arm once. Accident of course, but horrible nonetheless. We never dated. Go figure.

I batoned a Kershaw Thermite through some small trees. Remarkably it sustained no damage at all and its edge was still reasonably intact.

The worst thing I did to a knife was lend it out to a friend while on a camping trip. It was a Schrade Sharpfinger, the sheath was all cut up and the blade dull as a butter knife after only two nights on a canoe trip, no hunting or butchering chores involved.

I have used old knives I have no use for as cadavers to do my mad science experiments on trying different pimping techniques. I didnt take pictures because none of them would instill confidence.

Hi Rappy. I don't know anything about the Zancudo, but have a look at the Spyderco knives that come out of their Taiwan factory. Near custom level quality. I'm not saying that there isn't some junk coming out of Taiwan but there are some very high level knives being created there too. :)

I have the RAT1 and RAT2 and the Zancudo. The Zancudo is first class, as are the RATs and all of the Spydercos made in Taiwan. Some of the most beloved folders come from Taiwan. Don't knock it.

Soon after finding out my Esee Zancudo was made in Taiwan, I didn't care what I used it for
prying, scraping, hitting pans etc. :barf:

So....since you are so passionate about where your knives are made why not looking into that before you buy? Sort of common sense really...

Worst thing I ever did with a knife? 10 years or so ago I had this great hand made but buckled looking machete. I used it for years. One day after maintenancing some bamboo I threw it into the ground. It stuck but as it flexed back and forth the blade snapped about two inches up from the handle. Sad day but lesson learned.
