Maybe we should all just make our own knives and sheaths and see how well we do compared to the pros for time, quality and cost. Lets see, I have a milling machine, a lathe and a few files, all I need now is a grinder (approx. $2000), a heat treat oven (don't know how much they are, but not cheap), all the tools to do leather and kydex (I'll bet that is not cheap either), and someone(s) to teach me everything I need to know about making the finest (read desireable) knives and sheaths there are. Well, that should only take twenty years or so!

I was with you until you said 20 years. :) I would love to try my hand at knife making someday, but lt's face it, I know I will never beat what i can buy from Busse. :D

Amen brother!!!

One thing that we've all pretty much come to accept in this little corner of the world, with Busse and Swamp Rat, is that time runs a little differently. We have learned patience. We know that things may take a long time to happen here, but when they happen they are more than worth the wait.

The same holds true with the sheathmakers on these forums. These sheathmakers turn out exceptional products and they want your business. Nobody is out to push customers away or ignore them. If you do not get a response in a day or two, try again or try another method.

As with choosing Busse knives, if you cannot wait for these craftsmen to do what they do best, then you can buy an inferior product elsewhere. That is for you to decide.

ok, wow! this one went a looooong way in between forum time for me!

#1 Neither of the fellas have their e-mail accessable, I cant do a search to see if you contacted me based on your forum handles. I tried though, no dice. I dont ignore people! And I do take offense to anyone who thinks I am that arrogant. I only get to the computer twice a day if I'm lucky, I cant get back to everyone within the same day, most often its several days till I can get to it. E-mail is an imperfect system, some letters dont make it, some responses do, if I did respond to you and you didnt get it who is to blame? My wife takes care of most of the e-mail and phone traffic, try her at stacy@armoralleather.com

#2 Employees!!!???!!! Your kidding right? I barely make enough to pay the mortgage and bills let alone try to train someone to work for me. And I would be a terrible boss anyhow. :o I do this for the love of the craft, not for the money.

If either one of you two still wants to contact me, or the wife, just send a note tomorrow explaining your predicament and I promise we'll get back to you same day and we can work out something for your trouble. :D

I have done business with both Dwayne and David.
They are just plain old Kickass!
If you want something "now" go and buy a mass produced sheath and do your best to modify it to fit.

If you want a badass custom handcrafted sheath, you might have to wait a bit. ;)

Hmmm nice of the feller to apologize after he finally e-mailed me.
Oh well good luck to them

Thanks for the support all you other guys I feel all warm & fuzzy.

Here's another that's trouble by that avatar. For Hog's sake, Fink, can't you find something decent like a nice pair of legs in a Brown uniform?

That video...oh my eyes

It would probably freak you out more if you knew YOU HAVE TO E-MAIL ME TO FIND OUT WHO it is. :D

I think its funny

You're a sick puppy Mike. :)

PATIENCE IS THE SUPREME WORD HERE.

Good things come to those who wait. ...
..
No wine before it's time...

Having said all that, I have email corresponded with Dave and never had any problems. By the way, his kydex sheats are more solid than any other kydex sheaths I have held. Not sure if he uses thicker stock or what he does, but they just feel that way. So you get your moneys worth here.

Oh and Leatherman Dwayne is working for me currently:D so it may take you a while to get anything you want from him but both his wife and him answer all emails and calls. Well, and as for leatherman work quality , I would say that he is a Super Master Leather Sheath Maker like no other I have encountered who took an idea out of my brain (I think he can read minds) and made it into leather as perfect as the INFI it now protects. But since I don't want you tieing up his time I'll just say his work sucks and for you to go elsewhere.:D

I will second that motion, disregard my previous statements saying Dwayne was kickass. (More like ultra kickass)

Oh, and Dwayne- Cobalt says he can wait. Months if necessary;)
