What's up with the sheath makers?

I learned a lesson via this board years ago. If you're having problems with a manufacter then pick up the freakin' phone but don't attempt to trash them here! I've yet to have a problem contacting anyone that way.

HEY, remember when you had to WRITE to a craftsman ON PAPER with a PEN to have something made? 1 week out/1 week back, subsequent back and forth exchanges, waiting to have it made and shipped...how did we do it??:D

Oh yeah, the olden' days.....

Remember when you had to send your message by pack mule to the nearest town 100 miles away--sometimes multiple times because of incompetent messengers, Indian attacks, malaria outbreaks, etc.? Took about 6 to 8 weeks just to get the message through, another 4 months while the sheath was made, and then anywhere from 6 to 12 weeks to get the sheath. Boy, those were some times. :D

yup, I remember the times when we use to have to send one man to deliver mail 26 miles away and he died as he got there, but delivered the messege. then, the leathersmith would send a courier with the sheath 5 years later and that courier would die as well. Terrible thing is sometimes I wouldn't get my sheath.

Only 26 miles? This sounds like an insurance scam. I'll bet these couriers are living it up in Boca right now.

Right. I had to get up in the morning at ten o'clock at night half an hour before I went to bed, drink a cup of sulphuric acid, work twenty-nine hours a day down mill, and pay mill owner for permission to come to work, and when we got home, our Dad and our mother would kill us and dance about on our graves singing Hallelujah.
